UN - Delegation Training 2024
Please register your interest in attending upcoming Internet Society Training opportunities (face-to-face and virtual) that will be happening in 2024 to empower UN delegations ahead of their discussions at various UN Internet-related engagements.
What will be covered?
- Learn about the various Internet actors and stakeholders involved in developing the Internet and I ts governance.
- Provide a brief background on the Internet infrastructure, standards, protocols, and systems as a basis to understand Internet governance and cover the main Internet infrastructure and principles on which the Internet operates.
- Learn the Internet Way of Networking and the five critical properties that make up the foundation that underpins the Internet.
- Learn how conducting an Internet impact assessment can help prevent policies, technologies, and trends from harming the Internet.
- Review tools and resources, such as the Internet Impact Assessment Toolkit, the Internet fragmentation explainer, and the WTSA Issues Matrix, which can inform policymakers, diplomats, and government officials how to make choices that do not harm the Internet.
- Provide examples of various developments that positively or negatively impact the enablers and, consequently, the attainability of the Internet goals

You should attend this course if you are part of a delegation involved in one of the following UN engagements and seek to refresh your understanding of the critical properties of the Internet and how policies, regulations, and laws can affect the well-functioning of an open, globally-connected, secure and trustworthy Internet.
