Declaration of Candidacy
I hereby declare my candidacy/nominate the following individual for the California Science Teachers Association Board of Directors, for the 2018-2020 Term.

About You/The Nominee
The CSTA Nominating Committee will consider the following information when evaluating the nominee for candidacy.
Please briefly describe your teaching and other professional experience.
Include any honors and awards received, present professional memberships, offices held, and other pertinent data. Please address your experiences and qualifications for office as listed in the Position Description for the position for which you are being nominated.
Please list your past experience and association with the California Science Teachers Association, such as committee work, conference presentations, articles for newsletter, etc.
Your Biography for the Ballot
Please provide a brief biography in the third-person for printing in the election ballot information. Please limit to 100 words.
Your candidacy will be evaluated on the professional and personal characteristics listed in the Qualifications for Office and the Position Description. Additionally, if you are selected as a candidate for office, your statements of philosophy will be combinted and published as your Candidate Statement, with a brief biographical sketch (submitted above), in the ballot material sent to the voting membership. Taking that into account, please address the following two areas specifically.
Science Education Philosophy
Please address your philosophy of science education, science teaching, and the role of science education in society. Maximum 100 words - will be edited by CSTA if more than 100 words are submitted.
Please address your philosophy about CSTA, its mission and goals, its role in the education community, and your vision for the association. Maximum 100 words - will be edited by CSTA if more than 100 words are submitted.
You must submit:
Your current resume/CV
Two letters of endorsement from CSTA members, other than the President, President-Elect, or members of the CSTA Nominations Committee, endorsing your candidacy for office. If you are unsure whether or not an individual from whom you will be requesting an endorsement letter is a member of CSTA, you may call or email the CSTA office for that information (916-979-7004 or email@example.com). The letters should address, insofar as possible, how you meet the Qualifications for Office.
CSTA also requests that you submit a head-and-shoulders photograph of yourself, preferably color, for use on the election ballot.
