Annual Pediatric Health Equity Research and Policy Symposium Hosted by the Sandra L. Fenwick Institute

Symposium Overview

October 22-23, 2025


The Sandra L. Fenwick Institute is pleased to announce its annual Pediatric Health Policy and Research Symposium. This unique forum focuses on discussing research related to health policy, particularly as it affects underserved pediatric populations. It provides an opportunity to bring together researchers and leaders who are dedicated to improving health for children. The Symposium will feature invited speakers, panel discussions, and oral research presentations.


This will be an in-person meeting for all presenters and invited speakers.


Call for Abstracts

Original research abstracts for studies focused on child health policy and/or health outcomes in underserved populations are invited for submission. Research topics for abstracts may include but are not limited to: underserved populations as well as the association of social policies, legislation and social determinants of health on child health outcomes. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited for oral presentations of their work. Abstracts submitted by trainees, students, and post-docs are welcome.

Abstract Requirements

We will be accepting abstracts from March 1 to May 12. Notifications about abstract acceptance will be sent in Early June.


Abstract submissions are to be uploaded as a single PDF:


  • Please include the abstract title, authors, and affiliations at the top of the uploaded pdf
  • Word limit: 350 words (NOT including title/authors/affiliations)
  • Table and/or Figure (maximum of 2 total) optional
  • Please name the file to be uploaded with your first initial and middle initial, last name, date with no spaces. i.e., JA_Smith_6_1_2022


All invited research presenters will be expected to attend the Symposium in-person.


Meeting registration fees will be waived for all presenters.
