Temporary School Streets Fund Application

Please complete this application form to apply for a grant of up to £30,000 to implement a temporary school street scheme.


You will not be able to save your progress and return to this form later so you may wish to prepare your answers to each question in a separate document and paste them here when you are ready to submit your application.

Sometimes referred to as a community partner or community group. This includes parent councils and community councils.

 

This can be the name of the school, the name of the street to be closed, or if there are multiple schools, the name of the area those schools are in.

 
 
 

Consider the impact on the school and wider community. You should also describe how the benefits of the scheme relate to the aims of the Places for Everyone programme:


“The aim of Places for Everyone is to create safer, more attractive, healthier, and inclusive places which are enjoyed equitably by increasing and diversifying the number of trips made by walking, wheeling or cycling for everyday journeys."

These documents will help the selection panel to decide whether or not we can fund your project. Supporting documents should include:

  • project plan * (this should include a timeline for delivering and monitoring the scheme, how you plan to spend the grant, and how you plan to engage with the school and wider community about the school street scheme and the benefits of walking, wheeling and cycling to school)
  • map of project area *
  • any existing ideas or sketches for the scheme (not necessary for the application)
  • letter of support from the local authority (if not applying on behalf of the local authority)
  • letter of support from the headteacher (if applying on behalf of a community council, local authority or parent council)
  • landownership map (if the land isn't owned by the local authority)
  • letter of support from the landowner (if the land isn't owned by the local authority)
