Learning Plan

The purpose of the Learning Plan is to enable an applicant who has not practised the profession for 750 hours in the 3 year period preceding the date of their application to self-evaluate their skills and knowledge related to the Standards of Practice and Core Competencies of the profession. By identifying areas for growth, the applicant is able to outline in their Learning Plan any activities, education or training that are necessary to address identified gaps which require remediation in order to ensure safe, competent and ethical naturopathic practice. Before developing the Learning Plan table on the next page, please complete the Standards of Practice Self-Assessment Questionnaire, the Core Competency and Controlled Acts Practice Reflection tools included in this package. Together, these documents will assist you in assessing the currency of your skills, knowledge and judgment, and will help you identify any areas for growth which may require training or education to be outlined in the Learning Plan. Note: In order to perform inhalation, injection or intravenous infusion therapy (IVIT), or to prescribe, dispense, compound or sell, members must have met the Standard of Practice for IVIT and/or the Standard of Practice for Prescribing. These Standards can only be met post-registration and are therefore not covered in the assessment tools provided.

 

Instructions

1. Review each question below pertaining to the Core Competencies and the Standards of Practice. For those where you have identified as an Area for Growth in your Core Competency Practice Reflection and Self-Assessment Questionnaire, answer 'yes" to the question. New fields will open on the form when you select yes. 2. Indicate the specific area for growth, the learning objectives, the learning activity and when you plan to undertake in them in the appropriate boxes on the form. These may be resources you will use or activities you will participate in. This may also include formal education or training to address skill atrophy. 3. Set a target date of completion for each learning objective. 4. Include the Outcome of completing the learning objective. Outcomes may include, but are not limited to: • I plan to modify my practice based on this learning objective. • I plan to pursue additional learning in this area. • This learning objective has reaffirmed my knowledge and no change is needed to my practice at this time. 5. The Learning Plan, including target dates and planned objectives, will be reviewed by a panel of the Registration Committee who may make adjustments based on the information provided. Be sure to check the box where it asks you if you want a copy of the form for your records and enter your email address.

 

 

Registrant Information
