Awardees are selected through a comprehensive evaluation process by the Selection Committee and the contributions they have made in their communities and around the world exemplify NYU’s spirit.
Distinguished Public Service
Criteria: A respected and distinguished graduate of SPS who has clearly demonstrated a record of outstanding public service in her/his professional, vocational, social, or cultural endeavors.
Distinguished Alumnus/a Award
Criteria: A respected and distinguished graduate of SPS who has demonstrated extraordinary achievement and/or service in her/his professional, vocational, social, or cultural endeavors, and who deserves acknowledgment as embodying the spirit of distinction that brings pride to the School and the University.
Distinguished Young Alumnus/a Award
Criteria: Presented to an SPS graduate, age 35 or younger at the time of nomination, for outstanding achievement in business or professional life, or for significantly improving or enhancing the lives of others through outstanding leadership or service. His or her deeds and actions thereby reflect and recognize the importance of their education and bring honor to SPS and NYU.
Meritorious Service Award
Criteria: A respected and distinguished graduate of SPS and NYU who has demonstrated extraordinary service and continuing devotion to their Alma Mater and who embodies the University motto: to Persevere and to Excel.
