Thank you for applying to the Safe School Culture Grant. THE GRANT APPLICATION IS OPEN UNTIL FEBRUARY 1, 2024.

SB283 allocates $5 million to cultivate a network of instructors who are certified in nonviolent crisis intervention methods. The aim is to create safer learning environments for all students and staff.

•    This is a non-competitive, distribution grant to school districts, ESDs, and charter schools.

•    It provides funds to schools and ESDs so their staff can become certified instructors in nonviolent crisis intervention methods.

•    To qualify for reimbursement, newly certified instructors will need to provide (usually 3) trainings to staff and submit regular reports.

•    Any leftover money will be used to support schools and ESDs in covering the expenses for the “in-house” staff training, such as stipends, training materials, and meeting costs.
