Sanford Health makes available a financial resource to assist students with the expenses associated with completion of their training in surgical technology. In return for the financial resource, the student has the opportunity to become employed in a full time status for the two or three years, as agreed to in the contract.

ELIGIBILITY

• Must be accepted into a Surgical Technologist program
• Commit to working 2 or 3 years for Sanford as determined by the program and contract.
• You will be contacted by a Sanford Career Development Counselor throughout your studies, who will provide assistance and guidance.
• Must maintain a GPA that meets program requirements and show forward progression through the program of study and grades must be submitted as part of the regular check-ins with your Sanford CDC.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

• Forgiveness will begin upon receipt of certification and employment in a full time position.
• Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this program will result in repayment of the loan with interest.

FUNDING

Sanford Health provides this financial resource directly to the students selected through the application process. Any and all taxes associated with this financial resource become due at the time of forgiveness. So you will see the taxes being deducted in the tax year of your employment as an Surgical Technologist. This is in accordance with the Internal Revenue Services’ guidelines.
