The Ag Pen Pal Program develops a personal connection between a Nebraska farmer or rancher and a kindergarten – eighth grade classroom during the school year. Through this connection students can begin to understand the connection between agriculture and natural resources, seasons, nutrition, communities, the environment, weather, and the culture of rural Nebraska. Teachers who sign up must commit to exchanging communication with their assigned farmer or rancher two times during the spring semester. This can be done through letters or emails.

The program begins January 1st with the farmer/rancher sending the first letter.
