Girl Scout Silver Award Project Proposal
It is sometimes necessary for Girl Scouts to expand upon their project prior to starting. The troop leader/advisor will be advised if the Girl Scout(s) have approval to start their project.
Planning of the Silver project should begin after completion of a Journey. A Journey is completed when a girl has earned the journey awards, which include creating and carrying out a Take Action project.
Girl Scouts working on their Silver Award may work individually or in a group setting (Max of 4 people).
Girl Scout Cadettes working on their Girl Scout Silver Award should reflect and plan on the sustainability of their project.

What does it mean to have a ‘‘sustainable’’ project?
A sustainable project is one that lasts after the girls’ involvement ends. A focus on education and raising awareness is one way to make sure a project can carry on after the project is complete.
Workshops and hands- on learning sessions can inspire others to keep the project going. Another way to create a sustainable project is by collaborating with community groups, civic associations, non-profit agencies, local government, or religious organizations to ensure the project lasts beyond the girls’ involvement.
