Application to Medical Education Scholars (MES) 2025-2026 Cohort
Applications, including the materials listed below, are due no later than 11:59 PM, Monday, April 7, 2025.
Application Process
Please provide the following along with your completed application:
1. Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
2. Supporting Letter from Your Department Chair and/or Division Chief
This letter must:
- Endorse your participation in the Medical Education Scholars Program.
- Confirm their commitment to providing you the time to attend the 20, 4-hour sessions (typically two Thursday afternoons per month, August 2025 – June 2026).
- Confirm their commitment to providing you the opportunity to dedicate the equivalent of an additional half-day per month to work on the required curriculum-development project, MES presentations, and assigned readings.
Note: The applicant should negotiate these commitments with their chair or chief before submitting the application.
3. Personal Statement
A brief statement organized into the following sections:
- Roles and Interests in Teaching/Education: Describe your teaching and education-related roles and interests.
- Alignment with MES Track: Explain how the MES Teaching, Learning & Curriculum track aligns with and supports your professional goals.
4. Curriculum Project Description
Provide a brief (~500 words) description of the curriculum project you plan to develop during the MES program. The review committee will consider the potential impact of this project on learners in the School of Medicine. Include the following details:
- Topics Covered: Identify the topics included in the curriculum.
- Scale: Specify the scale of the curriculum (e.g., a course, part of a course, rotation, self-paced online learning, etc.).
- Audience: Indicate the number and level of learners.
- Delivery Modality: Describe the method of delivery (e.g., large-group, small-group, clinical, laboratory, online, etc.).
5. Optional Letters of Support
You may include up to two (2) letters of support from colleagues or others. These are not required.
