Request to Add Guest to a Canvas Site
Use this form to request to have guests added to your live course sites in Canvas. Please allow up to five business days (M-Th) processing time, excluding holidays and office closures. From your Canvas course navigation menu, you can go to “People” to see when your guest has been added or deactivated.
FERPA Notice
In accordance with student privacy regulations (FERPA), access to a live site with student enrollments is limited to:
- Officially assigned Co-teachers
- J1 Evaluators
- Embedded tutor
- Embedded Counselor
Also, in accordance with FERPA regulations, collegial collaboration on content or sharing of content is done in a development (DEV) site. Therefore, if you plan "To share content or strategies with a colleague", do not complete this form. Instead, add your colleague to your DEV site.
- If you have an existing DEV site, as SiteHost, you can add your colleague yourself. Go to “How to Add Guests to Your Canvas Course”, and select the “Add Guest to Dev Site” tab for details.
- If you need a new DEV site to collaborate, please complete the Canvas Site Request form instead.
Note, since all guests except official J1 evaluators, TLC or STEM Center tutors, and embedded counselors require the approval of your academic dean. once you submit your request, this form will be routed to your dean for approval.
