Privacy Notice: BBC Children in Need is the data controller and will collect and process the personal data that you provide to us for the purposes of contacting you about your submission and using your submission in our fundraising campaign in 2023 and for fundraising campaigns in 2024. Our lawful basis for this is that it is in our legitimate interests to undertake fundraising, promotion and related activities to further our charitable objectives. We will retain details of submissions for one year for our audit purposes and our lawful basis for this is compliance with a legal obligation. We work with approved third-party providers who help us to provide some of our services. These partners only use your personal data on behalf of us and not independently of us.
We will share information you provide with the BBC and BBC group companies (including BBC Studios Productions Limited referred to as BBC Studios from now on) for the purposes of them contacting you about your submission, creating BBC content and/or using it in the run up to and for BBC Children in Need’s fundraising campaign of 2023 and into 2024 to promote that campaign. We will not share your personal data with any other third-parties unless required or permitted by the law. When we share with the BBC and BBC Studios the BBC and BBC Studios are each separate data controllers to us.
