The School-Based Health Alliance is seeking SBHC providers and administrators to share their insights about successful family planning strategies in a virtual focus group.
These focus groups are part of a project with Child Trends. With funding from the Office of Population Affairs, and in partnership with the School-Based Health Alliance, Child Trends is conducting research to identify, evaluate, and disseminate successful SBHC strategies for providing family planning services to adolescents. A key goal of the study is to increase family planning providers’ knowledge of ways they can collaboratively work in and/or with schools to better reach underserved adolescents and young adults. Providers or administrators at SBHCs that dispense, prescribe, or provide referrals for students to access hormonal or long-acting reversible contraceptives are eligible to participate. We are interested in your practices and strategies prior to the COVID pandemic, as well as any adaptations and new strategies you have implemented as a response to COVID.
Eligible providers and administrators are invited to participate in a 1 hour focus group via Zoom on October 14, 2020 at 4:00PM Eastern time or October 15, 2020 at 2:00PM Eastern time. You will have the opportunity to share strategies and practices from your SBHC and learn from peers and colleagues. Our goal for these focus groups is to identify sites for more in-depth follow up interviews on successful family planning strategies.
If you are unable to participate in the focus group but interested in scheduling a one-on-one interview with the School-Based Health Alliance to talk about your SBHC’s family planning practices, please contact Emily Baldi at ebaldi@sbh4all.org or (202) 638-5872 ext. 214.
Focus group participants will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as compensation for participation. If a follow up interview is requested, an additional $25 gift card will be offered.
