General Permit Exemption Submittal

  • EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATALY: Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) will not be collected as part of the General Exemption Permit process. Please remove all traffic control references prior to submitting. TCPs are still required for all right of way permits. For more information about TCPs, visit their TCP webpage. To submit a TCP, go to their TCP Portal. For questions, contact TCPReview@austintexas.gov.


  • This General Permit Exemption application is for project(s) less than 300 linear feet and less than 3000 square feet limit of construction. The limits of construction includes access areas, material/equipment staging areas.


  • This document serves as equivalent to a standard Site Plan Exemption for applicable General Permit Program Projects.


  • A confirmation of approval/disapproval will be sent to applicant via email within ten (10) business days of receipt of the General Permit Program Project Exemption submittal.

DO NOT include a Traffic Control Plan (TCP), approved or not, your request will be rejected, and you will be required to resubmit as a new request.
