Thank you for your interest in the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Learn to Swim Program.

To request that your child be considered for our Learn to Swim Program, please submit one application per child. You may indicate both your primary and secondary choices for pool locations. Please do not submit multiple applications for the same child, as duplicate applications will not be considered for selection.

Enrollment selections are made on a first-come, first-served basis. If your child is selected for swim lessons, you will receive a confirmation email with all relevant details within one week. Please print out that confirmation and bring it with you to your first day of lessons. No on-site registrations are allowed.

Children that have participated in one session will not be considered for a second session unless class availability allows.

Class sizes are limited in accordance with American Red Cross training standards. With such high demand, most applications will not be accepted.

All group lessons are intended for beginner swimmers ages 4 and older. DCR will offer three separate sessions of swim lessons. Each session consists of 8 lessons spread out over a two-week period. Lessons are offered only on weekdays. Classes will be canceled if there is thunder or lightning within 30 minutes of the class start time. There are no make-up days for missed or canceled classes. Space is limited and subject to availability.

Learn to Swim Classes (ages 6-12): 9:45 - 10:15 am

Preschool (ages 4-5): 10:25 - 10:55 am
