Start UP Pavilion

We are calling all trailblazers and dreamers! The Start UP Pavilion is the hottest ticket in town, where small-but-mighty businesses are stealing the spotlight. This pint-sized powerhouse of a pavilion showcases the next generation of game-changers - companies with big ideas, even bigger ambitions, and the chutzpah to make it all happen. Get ready to be dazzled by these fresh-faced innovators rewriting the rules of success, one brilliant mind at a time. This is your chance to meet the future movers and shakers in human services solutions!


You must complete this application to be considered for the Start UP Pavilion. For 2024, up to ten (10) companies will be selected using, at minimum, the following criteria:


  • Must be a start-up company serving the human services sector
  • Must have less than ten employees
  • Must have less than $5M in revenue
  • Must have been in business for less than five (5) years
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women Business Enterprises (WBEs), and Veteran Business Enterprises (VBEs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Each accepted company agrees to pay $3,500 to participate in the Start Up Pavilion.

The deadline for applications is August 30, 2024.

 

What is the Start UP Pavilion?

The American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) is excited to introduce this new feature - a pavilion (shared exhibit space) in the ISM+PHSA Education Conference & Expo Hall showcasing new and/or upcoming business entities to human services professionals serving state and local government programs. The pavilion is designed to showcase solutions and services that cover all verticals of business operations within and/or across agencies and departments (e.g., call center solutions, technology, business/program, legal). We are seeking diversity in ownership, structure and size of companies attending, as long as they serve the human services sector.

This section helps the APHSA Exhibitor Advisory Committee select the final companies that meet the criteria to be in the Start UP Pavilion as defined by the criteria. This information will be held in strict confidence and will be only shared in aggregate format. Listed here as a reminder:

  • Must be a start-up company serving the human services sector

Pavilion Format

The Start Up Pavilion will provide the following for each selected company:

  • Start UP Pavilion will have a prominent location on the Expo Floor
  • Fully branded kiosk with small workspace and an attached monitor (cables are included)
  • Access to one (1) electrical outlet
  • Two (2) stools
  • Use of Conference WiFi*
  • One (1) complimentary conference registration (Additional passes are available for purchase. No badge sharing is permitted, doing so can have you removed by Show Management)


If selected to participate in the Start Up Pavilion, I agree to the following:

 

Each selected company is required to pay $3,500 to particpate in the Start Up Pavilion. All fees must be paid at the time of selection for Show Management to produce the branded kiosk. I acknowledge and agree to this requirement.

 

I understand that if I will be streaming demos at my kiosk, I am responsible for having a hardline installed, at my expense, for these demos. If it is brought to the attention of Show Management that I am streaming, which is pulling down the usage on the attendee conference WiFi, Show Management will install a hardline at my kiosk and charge the cost to me. I acknowledge and understand this requirement.

 

Each firm is given one (1) full conference registration complimentary. Additional badges are available at reduced rates. No badge sharing is permitted and doing so can have you removed by Show Management. I acknowledge, understand, and agree to this guideline.

 

I agree to be present at the ISM+PHSA Education Conference & Expo for all open hours of the Expo Hall, particularly during breaks, receptions, and times when attendees are encouraged to be in the Expo Hall engaging with exhibitors and sponsors.

 

I agree to follow the rules and regulations as set forth by Show Management for the ISM+PHSA Education and Expo event.

 

You may submit one (1) marketing item for your company as a reference point for the committee to use as an evaluation point only. This is not required.
