Position Overview:
The Internet Society is seeking a Researcher to join our team for a short-term research project. The goal of this project is to conduct a comprehensive survey on the potential use cases of the RPKI Signed Checklist (RSC) IETF standard. The researcher will focus on identifying potential use cases, evaluating their impact on enhancing trust and security, testing implementations, and contributing to experimental or Best Current Practice (BCP) documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and document a wide range of potential use cases for RPKI Signed Checklist (RSC).
- Assess the effectiveness of RSC use cases in enhancing trust and security in Internet routing.
- Identify any potential gaps, vulnerabilities, or challenges within the current Internet security framework that may affect the implementation of RSC.
- Deliver a report highlighting the security improvements, possible limitations, and recommendations for addressing gaps in the framework.
- Analyse current RSC implementations to verify operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Strong background in network security, cryptography, or a related field.
- Experience with RPKI, BGP, or internet routing security.
- Experience with the IETF standardization process
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
