VT Life Membership
Life Member - Any person honoured by VT for meritorious and exceptional service to VT through volunteer effort. The Board may recommend to a General Meeting of Members that a person or persons be made Life Members. The Members in the General Meeting may resolve to accept the recommendation whereupon the person or persons shall become Life Members. Life Members have all the rights of Members but shall be exempt from paying membership fees. VT Constitution 5.1(d)
Nominations are considered annually. Nomination period is open following each Annual General Meeting. Nominations will be considered by the VT Board in the September Board meeting each year, and should a successful candidate be identified, Life Membership will be announced at the Annual General Meeting in October each year.
Eligibility criteria:
- Specific to service provided to Volunteering Tasmania as an Organisation.
- Open to persons that have contributed significantly through volunteering. Employees are eligible for contributions made outside of their employment role, through official and recognised volunteering appointments.
- 'Meritorious and exceptional service' can also be understood as: outstanding and exceptional contributions which have significantly impacted the outcomes of VT, in context of the Strategic Plan.
