2023 Media Pass Request Form & Policy - NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo

Members of the media interested in covering NAFSA's 2023 Annual Conference & Expo must apply for a NAFSA Media Pass by submitting this form.


The NAFSA Media Pass is limited to working journalists at news media outlets with an established record of producing original, news-focused editorial coverage and is intended for the express purpose of gathering news and information to produce media coverage of the meeting.


Individuals who write for publications whose primary content is service, product, or brand promotion, or aggregated third-party content; whose work is related to circulation, sales, advertising, or other non-editorial functions; or who are registered as exhibitors at the conference, are not eligible for a Media Pass.


The NAFSA Media Pass provides admission to daily plenary speaker addresses, the International Education Expo Hall, conference sessions, and opening and closing receptions.


Terms and Conditions


A. Anyone distributing promotional materials or samples in meeting rooms, hallways, near registration, or any other space near or adjacent to the NAFSA conference space will forfeit their media pass.


B. On-site plenary events and sessions are considered on the record unless otherwise noted. Audio or video recording is not permitted at any component of the conference without prior written approval. Conference workshops, private events, special evening events that require pre-registration, and meetings of NAFSA leadership and member groups are closed to the news media.


C. On-site Media Check-in and Registration begins at 7:30 am on Tuesday, May 30. Reporters will not be issued credentials before that time. Reporters will need to provide photo I.D. at check-in.
