The Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships beginning in 2025. The Martinos Fellows Program offers outstanding candidates the opportunity to match to existing research groups at the Center. Participating labs provide an annual salary (paid monthly) and are committed to fostering the fellow’s research and professional development. Fellows are typically recruited for two years, with the potential for extension depending on funding.
We seek researchers who are enthusiastic about interdisciplinary collaboration and eager to engage with a vibrant community of imaging scientists and biomedical or clinical investigators.
Research areas span a broad range of imaging modalities and biomedical applications. Modalities include PET, MRI (including fMRI, low-field, high-field), MEG, EEG, optical imaging, physics and instrumentation, chemistry and imaging probes, image analysis, and machine learning. Applications range from imaging basic neuroscience, receptors, physiology, and whole-body to clinical research and biomarker development. The Center also welcomes interest in emerging and interdisciplinary topics in imaging. Many research projects involve collaboration across departments and institutions in the Boston area.
The Martinos Center is home to world-class clinical and preclinical imaging infrastructure, including simultaneous PET/MRI systems with a cyclotron facility, high-field MRI, MEG, EEG, optical imaging, microscopy, and more. The Center supports a dynamic community of faculty and trainees conducting diverse biomedical & and neuroimaging research.
Ideal candidates will have a background in an area related to biomedical science, physics, or engineering and experience or a strong interest in applying their expertise to advance biomedical imaging research. Fellows are expected to actively participate in the Center’s collaborative environment, both within their labs and across the broader research community.
The Martinos Center offers postdoctoral fellows numerous opportunities to engage in Center-wide activities, including the BrainMap seminar series, professional development panels, and interdisciplinary research meetings.
Massachusetts General Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We especially encourage applications from women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds.
Priority deadline: July 15, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
