TEAM NORTH CAROLINA
Voter outreach in North Carolina offers both partisan and non-partisan phone canvassing (and texting to a lesser extent). We recommend you select one activity to begin your work with Team NC. We highly recommend that you choose voter protection because it is critically important and ensures that Democratic voters actually have their votes cast and counted. It’s a plus that the voter contacts you will have when you do voter protection will almost always be with people who want to talk with you. Here’s a discussion of the three major activities: Voter Protection: There are three different voter protection activities. All are partisan. You can do one, two or all three. The first is phone outreach to voters to sign them up to be poll observers; the second is phone outreach to provide assistance on absentee voting; the third is answering questions on voting posed by voters calling the NC Democratic party’s Voter Assistance Hotline. You Can Vote: Non-partisan phone outreach to people who may need help to register to vote or understand the options for casting a ballot this year. FLIP NC: Partisan phone outreach to voters to provide voter education and promote candidates for the NC house or senate. As a “bonus” activity, team members involved in any one of these activities can also be contacted when opportunities for texting arise. (If and when texting becomes more regular, it can be a volunteer’s only activity on the team.) If you are interested in being notified about texting opportunities, add a note to that effect in the Notes/Comments field. Within a few days of signing up, you will receive an email with orientation information. Welcome to Team North Carolina!
