Building Renewal

Renewal of core building elements and systems such as exterior envelope, fire safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and elevators is conducted through an annual process managed by Campus Operations. If your request relates to the replacement of one of those elements or systems, you may wish to contact Campus Operations before proceeding with this form.


Building Maintenance

To request general maintenance to a building or space, please submit a work order through your department director or building manager in the Maintenance Connection website. General maintenance typically includes things like:

  • Heating or cooling issues
  • Water leaks
  • General repairs and maintenance

Important Definitions

New Space

Understood to be a request for net new space either through reallocation of existing space or construction or lease.


Renovation

Understood to be changes to an existing built environment, requiring multiple trades (e.g., electricians, carpenters), involving systems furniture installation, affecting code requirements or requiring professional design services. The space affected must be space that is already allocated to your department.


Space Use Change

Understood to be a change to the use of an existing built environment that is already allocated to your department but that does not require a renovation. Examples include conversion of a conference room to another use or reassignment of an office.


Temporary Request

Temporary space requests are for a limited amount of time.


Shared Request

Shared space when the space is only needed specific days/times.


Permanent Request

Permanent request when the space is needed full time

(summer, fall, spring).

Space is a university resource and may be reallocated at any point to further utilization efforts on campus. Each department on campus is expected to routinely review space needs, purposes, and restructure to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Any vacated space will be evaluated for reallocation.
