Wellness Ambassador Program Application
Purpose:
Wellness Ambassadors serve as representatives of the UC Davis Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being
program while supporting and engaging their colleagues in wellness messaging, programs, activities, and
resources.
Characteristics of a Wellness Ambassador:
- Enthusiasm for health and well-being
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to advocate bringing health and well-being to life at the department level
- Willingness to generate ideas and share resources
- Roles and Responsibilities:
- Market, publicize and recruit staff and faculty to participate in health and well-being activities and programming on campus
- Identify potential ideas, strategies and programs for enhancing well-being and a healthy culture/work environment
- Develop health and well-being initiatives in your unit (e.g., use bulletin boards, develop a healthy potluck day, schedule a guest speaker or activity, walking group, etc.)
- Serve as liaison to the Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being program
- Share your success stories and metrics with us
Time Commitment:
Service as a Wellness Ambassador is to be done during non-work time (breaks, lunch, after hours) and will require about 40 minutes/month. Ambassadors may choose to volunteer more time for organizing special wellness activities or events for their groups.
The Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being Program will provide guidance and direction, consultation and information to Wellness Ambassadors.
