General Laborers Maintenance (Minimum Age 18):
You are part of TEAM OPS - every department and all of our guests rely on you to have the fair and fairgrounds ready! Some laborer positions may start work during the month of September. Primary positions will work 5 to 6 days a week for the entire run of the Fair. Schedules may fluctuate. These positions clean the grounds and/or buildings. Laborers must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and provide the physical labor to set up or take down the Fair. Employees in this department usually have the opportunity for overtime.
Ticket Sellers (Minimum Age 18):
Do you have experience handling cash? Have recent sales experience? That’s a plus for this position where you will be selling tickets to our guests. Excellent customer relations and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment are required. Sellers must be able to balance within a reasonable percentage of total sales. There is a tolerance of 1 unexcused absence during the run of the Fair; Must possess the ability to sit for considerable lengths of time, working long extended hours as dictated by the Fair.
Ticket Takers (Minimum Age 18):
You are where memories start for our guests. All that stands between the guest and a day of fun is having you scan their tickets. The pleasant chime of a ticket validation will be your que to let eager guests enter the fair. Ticket Takers greet every patron as they enter the Fair, scan tickets, and direct patrons towards the Fair. The main responsibility is to ensure that no one is admitted to the Fair without a ticket. Excellent customer service and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment are required. Sometimes you’ll become the information officers, answering directional questions (“Where is the petting zoo”, “Where are the nearest restrooms'', '' Where will I find the bacon-wrapped corn dogs?” or provide directions to stages, entertainment venues, or refreshment stands; must possess the ability to stand for considerable lengths of time, working long extended hours as dictated by the Fair.
Parking Sellers (Minimum Age 18):
Greets and directs guests in a friendly and professional manner, sells parking tickets for all ticketed parking Fair events, cash handling experience preferred; guide guests to Fair pathways and designated entrances; must possess the ability to stand/sit for considerable lengths of time, working long extended hours as dictated by the Fair.
Parking Attendants (Minimum Age 16):
Greets and directs guests in a friendly and professional manner; directing all incoming traffic to designated parking spots. Must possess the ability to communicate with all guests both verbally and through the use of hand signals while directing all vehicles to their parking spots. Also responsible for checking each parking section for litter and/or potentially hazardous materials; must possess the ability to stand for considerable lengths of time, working long extended hours as dictated by the Fair.
Customer Service Representative (Minimum Age 18):
You will make the experience at the fair a great one for our guests. When a fairgoer needs a helping hand, a gentle reminder not to touch exhibits, or a friendly smile as guests enter buildings they can count on you. These positions provide crowd control and/or seating assistance for our guests. Good people skills and a pleasant demeanor are a must to serve as a Customer Service Representative. You will be provided with a shirt but must provide your own black pants and black shoes.
Guest Service Representatives (Minimum Age 18):
Sometimes people need a bit of assistance with situations that arise. Your pleasant attitude will get them back on track for a fun-filled day at the fair. Frontline customer service, greeting and welcoming all attending guests during the event; attentively listen and respond promptly to guest inquiries and provide accurate information to guests relative to events being held including event descriptions and general information about the facility and event; exhibit a professional demeanor and willingness to assist all guests, vendors, and patrons.
Entries Department Clerk (Minimum Age 18):
This is where tradition, art, talent, skill, and fair fun collide! Assist with all areas of the entries departments (competitions); provide excellent customer service and assist Coordinators in creating dynamic displays. Help with contests and demonstrations, including Fashion Show, Culinary demonstrations, and many more. Ability to stand long periods of time.
