Temp positions: FTE is fixed and not variable. This means that temporary employees must work the equivalent FTE hours each week or take earned leave (ex. 1.0 FTE = 40 hours per week, .75 FTE = 30 hours per week) for the duration of the appointment. Temps are not granted employment beyond two years from the date of employment (reappointment possible after three month break in service), longer than 6 months appointment and half-time or greater are eligible for benefits (i.e. health/dental, vacation, and sick leave).
On-Call positions: hours/FTE can be variable, appointed to work peak activity periods and can work up to 693 hours per fiscal year, not eligible for any leave with pay or any other UNL benefits.
