Application Essay

We’d like to know a bit more about why you’d like to become a Communication major. Please write a well constructed essay (500-750 words), in which you:

1. Explain what you expect to learn in the Communication major. How will this help you achieve either your academic or professional goals, or address pressing social, cultural or political issues?

2. Reflect on one or two specific experiences in the Communication classes you have taken, what you learned from them, and why these led you to Communication as your potential new major.

3. Identify Communication courses you hope to take in the future and explain how these fit with your goals.

Please write this essay clearly and professionally, as befits a Communication major. The UCC will evaluate this essay in conjunction with your grades to determine your acceptance to the major.
