We have designed this new form to gather the most relevant information for our students and give you the best chance of finding a great intern. Many of the fields align with our new Careers Platform or areas of particular student interest, and we use your responses to secure academic approval and craft your job ad.

Remuneration

Please note that RMIT will include this information in the job ad and we will also check to ensure it complies with the Fair Work Act.


As an institution, we find students are significantly more engaged with roles which declare a salary and partners are much more likely to receive strong applications.


When deciding on a salary for the role, we encourage you to consider the cost of living and the fact that roles which pay above minimum wage are likely to receive the best engagement and retention.

 

Salary (Excluding Superannuation)

As of 1 July 2024 the National Minimum Wage is $24.10 per hour or $913.91 per 38 hour week. Casual employees covered by the National Minimum Wage also get at least a 25% casual loading.


  • For unpaid 120 or 240 hour placements, please write 'unpaid.'
  • You can choose an hourly rate or annual salary, for example $26 per hour or $60,000 per year
 
  • 120 or 240 hour internships can be paid or unpaid
  • 480 hours and above must be paid
