RMIT Computing Technologies Software Development Projects

To provide an authentic work-integrated learning (WIL) experience, industry partners are invited to submit challenges for a project topic. The projects must offer realistic, challenging, yet achievable for teams of final-year students, and must add real value to existing, anticipated or simulated problems in the industry.

Project requirements:

  • Self-sustained independent projects preferred (not BAU work)
  • Project description to be reviewed and approved by the academic coordinators
  • Project sponsors are expected to meet with the team regularly (at least 1 - 2 hrs/week)
  • The teams will be formed based on student interest and skillset
  • Team sizes are 3 -5 (team outcomes will be confirmed in week 2 of the semester)
  • Projects are supervised by an RMIT academic
  • Teams are required to meet with their industry partner on a regular basis to discuss progress, ask questions, and receive data.
  • A WIL agreement will be required to be signed by all parties involved (eg. RMIT, the participating students, and, if involved, the Industry Partner)

The students in this course work approximately 20 hrs/week (flexibly in addition to other courses) on the project for 10 - 12 weeks.

Semester start dates:

Semester 1, 2025 - 3rd March 2025

Semester 2, 2025 - 21st July 2025
