Bismarck Athletic Training Sponsorship

Sanford Health located in Bismarck, ND, makes available a financial resource to assist students with the expenses associated with completion of their athletic training degree. In return for the financial resource, the student has the opportunity to become employed as an Athletic Trainer in a full-time status at Sanford Health Bismarck for a period of time as defined in this description.



ELIGIBILITY


  • Must be enrolled full time in an accredited athletic training program.


  • 3.0 cumulative grade point average or above is required and show forward progression through the program of study.


  • Full-time enrollment must be continuous until graduation, as deemed by the institution’s program.


  • Must graduate from an accredited athletic training program and successful completion of the BOC Exam.


PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS


  • Award of $15,000 for Bismarck or $20,000 for surrounding rural markets (Dickinson, Williston, etc.) paid to the student at the beginning of the final year of the educational program


  • The awarded student will be requested to submit their fall semester grades and have a check-in with the Sanford Athletic Training Manager.


  • Recipients are not eligible for any Sanford Health hiring bonus being offered at the time of employment.


  • After graduation, recipients agree to work for Sanford Health Bismarck, as a Certified Athletic Trainer, for a period of 3 years from the start date in a full-time status.


  • Forgiveness will begin upon receipt of the attainment of a full-time AT.


  • Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this program will result in repayment of the loan with interest.

FUNDING


Sanford Health Bismarck provides this financial resource directly to the students selected through the application process. Any and all taxes associated with this financial resource become due at the time of forgiveness. The taxes will be deducted in the year you begin your employment as an AT. This is in accordance with the Internal Revenue Services’ guidelines.
