TEI supports students in developing a passion for taxation with our annual International Tax Case Competition, open to all students who are also eligible for the TEI student membership. With a prize of CAD$2,000, the competition will bring together mentors from the TEI membership and judges from IFA Canada for an exciting day of studying and collaboration in beautiful Montreal, Canada. Applicants must be students at the time of application.

This program will cover an international tax topic and participation does not require specific training or specialization; however, all participants must agree to attend in person. The time commitment is (i) a 3-hour course on relevant international tax concepts, (ii) 3-4 one-hour meetings with the mentor, and (iii) 20-30 hours readings that will be provided. This event will take place from August 15 to August 16, 2025. Registration must be completed by the university. Please see below for more details.
