Animal Care Checklist - Showcase

One animal care checklist to be completed daily per event/exhibit, please note that a check list is not required for each individual animal. Any concerns need to be reported immediately to the program manager responsible.

Forms must be completed by 1:00 PM daily.

Event/Exhibit

Number of animals on display today

Number of Animals Staying on Park overnight

Number of animals on display tomorrow

Fitness to Exhibit

Free of Scrapes, scratches, abrasions, lesions or abcesses

Free of Lameness or swelling on any limbs

In good health with no nasal discharge, diarrhea, coughing, fever, etc.

Adequate body condition (not too thin)

Clean and well groomed

Quiet disposition/History of disposition other than at home

Facilities

Appropriate spacing for species

Steel in good repair (no sharp edges, protruding objects, broken panels)

Gates are secure/swing freely

Appropriate bedding (No concrete should be showing)

Proper ground (no holes, rocks, obstacles)

Sufficient ventilation/air quality

Animal handling/demonstration area free of obstacles and ready for animal movement

Pens or housing clean (Ne excessive manure, garbage, or foreign objects in pens)
