SPR Perspectives Review Article

Purpose: • Address contemporary scientific issues and controversies by leveraging the expertise of SPR members • Increase SPR member engagement with the journal • Pair established and younger SPR members to simultaneously increase interaction between SPR members and create opportunities for mentorship and publication Format: “Perspectives from the Society for Pediatric Research” articles will provide a state of the art review as well as expert authority and opinion. The result is that the authors scientifically review a topical issue and provide their perspective and recommendations for consideration. The perspectives article will adhere to the general format of review articles for Pediatric Research, including 4,500 or fewer words, 6 or fewer figures, and 150 or fewer references. We recommend <4 authors but additional authors may be included if they meet authorship criteria. Letter of intent: A letter of intent should be submitted using the form below. The following information is required: 1. Name and contact information for the corresponding author as well as the junior SPR member (lead author) and senior SPR member (senior author) 2. Keywords (4-6 words) 3. Proposed title (“Perspectives from the Society for Pediatric Research: [Insert remainder of title]” 4. Brief description (up to 400 words) 5. Statement of how this review will advance the field (up to 250 words) 6. 5 references that will inform the review
