Call for Workshops

The Partners for Change Conference Planning Committee is seeking proposals for workshops for its annual conference. The workshops should address issues that aid in the development and strengthening of the criminal justice system’s response to violence against women and support and enhance services for victims. Workshops focusing on stalking, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, sex trafficking and culture-specific response from multi-disciplines are invited.
This conference is a collaboration with the Office of the Oklahoma Attorney General, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Native Alliance Against Violence, Oklahoma City Catholic Archdiocese, the Oklahoma Commission on Children & Youth, Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Oklahoma District Attorneys Council, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services, Oklahoma State Department of Health and United States Attorney Offices, Eastern, Northern & Western Districts.
This year’s conference will include tracks for law enforcement, victim advocates, prosecutors, civil attorneys, faith leaders, corrections, counselors and therapists, law enforcement, Tribal Country and other allied professionals.
In order for your workshop to be considered, the attachments included with this document must be completed and submitted with the proposal. No workshop will be considered without all of the requested information. All workshop proposals and attachments must be submitted by May 23, 2025. Proposals and accompanying documents should be submitted via SmartSheet or emailed to: melissa.vanduyne@oag.ok.gov. Include your last name and the event in the subject line of your email submission (ex: Jones – 2025 Partnership Conference). Proposals via Smart Sheet are preferred. The following information is offered to help you make a decision about submitting workshops for consideration:
1. This conference is supported by a VAWA grant and participant registration fees. Request for travel and per diem can be submitted for approval. Conference registration fee will be waived for all presenters who wish to attend other sessions.
2. All handouts and resources should be submitted for inclusion on the conference website. Copies of resources, handouts, etc. will not be made at the conference site. Copies of handouts and resources will be the responsibility of the presenter. PFC staff will NOT be able to make copies.
3. Please be sure your workshop title and description accurately reflect the content of your presentation.
4. Only presentations that meet the requirements of the VAWA VSU-00004 will be given consideration. The purpose of the grant is to promote a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to enhancing advocacy and improving the criminal justice system's response to violent crimes against women. It encourages the development and improvement of effective law enforcement and prosecution strategies to address violent crimes against women and the development and improvement of advocacy and services in cases involving violent crimes against women.
5. Sessions are 75 minutes in length. Presenters should leave time for questions at the end of the session.
