President's Academic Showcase Sign Up

The annual President’s Academic Showcase of Undergraduate Research is part of Concordia University's commitment to academic excellence. The competition is a chance for you to work one-on-one with a faculty mentor on an undergraduate research project of your choice. The competition is inter-disciplinary, drawing entries from biology, English, theology, behavioral sciences, music, theater, education, business, communication studies, psychology, art, chemistry, history, anthropology, linguistics and mathematics (i.e. any academic discipline). A panel of faculty, selected from across the disciplines, serves as judges for the showcase. There are two levels of competition: Tier One for upperclassman and Tier Two for freshmen and sophomores. Prizes for winners range from $200 to $1500, with a total purse of over $5,000. In addition to the monetary prizes, this is an excellent opportunity for you to exercise your academic muscles and delve deeper into a particular discipline and experience cutting-edge research. If you plan to go to graduate school this would be the best way to boost your resume with real hands-on research experience. Projects can be a new project (eligible to earn 3 units of independent study credit) or can be an extension of a research project done as part of a class.
