Event Information

 

To be approved, the event must be sponsored and organized by a budgeted unit of the university. Meetings or events organized by faculty, staff or student organizations do NOT qualify as events sponsored by the university. We cannot approve alcohol exceptions for these events.

 
 
 

Recurring event is appropriate if the event will have the same general purpose and attendees and will be conducted multiple times during the year. Examples include exhibit openings or advisory council events.

 

Example: 5:30pm - 8:00pm

 
 

Note: An exception request is NOT required if you are hosting your event at one of the following locations:

  • Moody Center
  • Cactus Cafe
  • McCullouch Theater
  • UFCU Disch-Falk Field
  • Etter-Harbin Alumni Center
  • Blanton Museum Cafe
  • Texas Memorial Museum
  • UT Club
  • AT&T Hotel and Conference Center
  • Commons Learning Center Cafe (PRB Building 137S)
  • Bass Concert Hall
  • University Union
  • Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium
  • O's Campus Cafe (all campus locations)
  • Wildflower Cafe
  • Tailgating Areas: PTS Regulated RV Lots and Tailgate Guys Locations

The university highly discourages serving alcohol at events where undergraduate students will be present. Should undergraduates attend such an event, the university requires that a licensed-TABC caterer/bartender be used.

 

If guests exchange funds for this event, the university requires that a licensed-TABC caterer/bartender be used. Events that require the purchase of tickets for attendance fall in this category.

 

If a tip or donation jar is present, the university requires that a licensed-TABC caterer/bartender be used.

 
 

Acknowledgement Statements

  • All pertinent laws, Regents Rules, and university policies regarding alcoholic beverages will be observed and strictly enforced.
  • The area where the alcohol is being served will be monitored to ensure that only invited guests participate in the event.
  • This event will utilize a TABC-licensed caterer or bartender if funds are being exchanged for this event or if undergraduate students will be present.
  • All information provided in this request is true and accurate.
  • The approval of this exception request applies only to the use of alcohol on property and in buildings owned or leased by UT Austin. Additional approvals by other university offices may be required for the use or possession of alcohol as described in HOP 8-1030.
 

As the requester, and the person responsible for the request, I agree that I have read and will comply with the above listed acknowledgement statements. I will also ensure the event organizers, if applicable, comply with the above statements. "Yes" must be selected to continue.
