Washington Youth Development Nonprofit Relief Fund - Peer Reviewer Interest Form

The Washington State Department of Commerce is partnering with School’s Out Washington to implement the Washington Youth Development Nonprofit Relief Fund ( https://covid.schoolsoutwashington.org/rfp-notification-signup/ ). This one-time investment intends to provide relief to youth development programs that have stretched to support young people most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and furthest from educational justice. Youth development programs across Washington have quickly adapted their services to provide responsive supports for youth and families to whom they are deeply connected, including emergency childcare, social-emotional supports, academic mentoring, virtual programming, and even basic needs supports. These relief funds address the financial and programmatic challenges that have come with COVID-19, acknowledging that lost revenue combined with increased expenses to adhere to COVID safety measures leave many organizations at risk of having to permanently close one or more programs or sites. School’s Out Washington is currently seeking peer reviewers to participate in the grant review process for the Washington Youth Development Nonprofit Relief Fund to take place in October, 2020. Reviewers will be asked to participate in a reviewer training, individually review a set of grants, and take part in a small group review team to discuss proposals. Reviewers will receive a stipend of $250/reviewer, and $500/lead reviewer.
