2024-25 LEAD Scholar Application

We are proud to announce that we are taking applications for the 8th cohort (2024-2025) of the innovative Leadership Education in Advancing Diversity (LEAD) Program, starting in August 2024. The LEAD program is looking for residents and fellows (LEAD Scholars) who are passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Vision: Develop diverse, inclusive leaders who advance health equity.

Mission: Educate and empower the next generation of medical leaders to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The program consists of 2-hour monthly sessions :

• 1-hour large group session (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
• 1-hour small group session (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM)

The expectation is that participants will attend a minimum of 8 of the 10 sessions. The first hour is for interactive discussion-based lectures led by leaders in and outside of the Stanford community. The second hour is spent working in mentored, small groups on developing workshop presentations, culminating in the 8th Annual Diversity and Inclusion Forum on May 9th, 2025 to showcase the scholarly works completed. To make the program more accessible, we will have 1-2 small groups that participate fully virtual. On the application, we will ask if you are ONLY able to attend virtually.

LEAD Sessions will be held on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
