General Labourer

Position: General Labourer

Location: Old Harbour, St. Catherine

Job Description:

The General Labourer is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a construction site by performing a variety of tasks that ensure smooth workflow and a safe environment. This role requires physical strength, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions closely.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Preparation: Clean and prepare the site by removing debris, spills, and unwanted materials.
Material Handling: Load and unload tools, raw materials, and other heavy objects.
Equipment Operation: Operate tools and machinery as instructed, including scaffolding and ladders.
Support for Skilled Trades: Assist subcontractors, carpenters, and other professionals as needed.
Safety Adherence: Follow warning signs, hazard labels, and company safety rules, monitoring activities to ensure compliance.
Reporting: Escalate site-related issues to the Site Manager promptly.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep work areas clean and organized.

Work hours:

8:00am to 5:00 pm with flexibility to work on Saturdays when necessary.

Skills and Experience:

At least 2 years of experience with a construction company or in a similar role.
Physically strong and healthy, able to perform labor-intensive tasks.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable attendance and ability to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Familiarity with common tools and equipment used in construction.
