Junior Fire Academy Application- 2025

Session 1 June 9 - 13, 2025 | Session 2 July 7- 11, 2025

The Junior Fire Academy is held at Wilmington Fire Department Headquarters, 801 Market St. Students can apply to be in the June 9-13 session OR July 7-11 session. Academy hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. to noon on Friday. There is a graduation ceremony at noon, followed by a cookout for family and friends. Lunch will be provided each day by WFD. Be sure to list all food allergies on application.

Attendance is required for all portions of the five-day Academy. Will you commit to attending the entire program?*

TERMS OF ENROLLMENT

  • Students must attend every day.
  • Students should not bring any valuables to the program including jewelry, money, electronics, etc. (i.e. tablets, gaming devices).
  • The Wilmington Fire Department is not responsible for lost items.
  • Students should dress for physical activity each day, including close-toed shoes.
  • Students should be picked up promptly at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and following the graduation ceremony on Friday.
