The Shire of Northam has now entered the Open Burning Period.

Due to the sustained fuel dryness, the Shire encourages all residents to ensure that their planned burn is conducted safely to ensure your fire does not pose a threat to the community.

Remember your burn is your responsibility, and as such it's important to remind all residents conducting burning to be mindful of your neighbouring properties, and also mindful of the impact the smoke from your fire may have on infrastructure such as roads and highways.

Always register your burn with the DFES Communications Centre on 9395 9209, to limit our volunteer firefighters from being called out unnecessarily.
