VETSRIDE Terms of Eligibility and Use


The Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs ("MOVA") is resuming the VetsRide transportation system program for District of Columbia (DC) Veterans. VetsRide is a partnership between TransCo. Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) and MOVA that provides convenient, affordable, and efficient transportation from Veterans in DC seeking educational, health, employment, or housing services. Program eligibility is restricted to veteran residents of Washington DC with an annual income less than $45,000.00, sixty or older, or any DC veteran unemployed.


MOVA prohibits use of the VetsRide Program ("Program")

service for any purposes that is not explicitly authorized by the Program terms and conditions. Program participants are responsible for any excess charges outside of VetsRide program coverage. Program participants may only use program rides for the following :

(a) Medical Treatment and Appointments

(b) Educational Opportunities

(c) Employment Oppportunities

(d) Housing Appointments

(e) Food Distribution Sites and Grocery Stores

(f) Pharmacies


Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ridesharing is no longer and option. All rides are private rides. (*In addition , 3 or more no shows and issues with DFHV will be subject to automatic program removal)

Please upload proof of service ie DD214 copy of VA ID card or Drivers License with Veteran on it .
