Background
Washington has set ambitious greenhouse gas reduction requirements, but we need a clear path to meet them. The Washington Climate Partnership, led by the Washington State Departments of Commerce and Ecology, is currently developing a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP). This plan will serve as a roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring a sustainable future for our state.
The primary goal of the CCAP is to create a far-reaching, implementable, and equitable plan to achieve state climate and energy mandates. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions fosters cleaner air, healthier communities, and a sustainable future while creating green jobs, boosting the economy, and protecting vulnerable populations. We’re also prioritizing benefits for low-income and historically marginalized communities to ensure a just transition.
