Fall 2025 Undergraduate Course Assistant (UGCA) Application for Intro Bio and Genetics, Molecular Biosciences, Integrative Biology, Neuroscience, and Biochemistry

NOTE: This application is for new UGCAs only. If you currently serve as a UGCA you can just speak to the professor you are working for about returning next semester.
- For BIO UGCAs completion of BIO 311C, BIO 311D and BIO 325 or BIO 315H/325H is required. No Exceptions. A B+ or better in all courses in either sequence is required.
- UGCA pay rates: $12/hr for first time Biology instructional Office UGCAs, $13/hr for returning BIO UGCAs, $14/hr if you have completed BIO or CH 372C.
- All new UGCAs (except those who have completed 372C) are required to attend a new course assistant training workshop through the Office of STEM Education Excellence in CNS. This training is usually held the first week of classes each fall/spring semester.

- Most UGCA appointments are 10 hours per week. If you have employment elsewhere on campus it is your responsibility to make sure you will not be appointed more than 20 hours total.
- All UGCAs are required to be enrolled for at least 12 hours with an exception for graduating seniors.
-Positions may be available for lower division and upper division courses so list all courses you might be interested in.
- Filling out this application does NOT guarantee employment.
- Communicating with a faculty member you want to work for is highly recommended before submitting this application.
- No student will be allowed to be a UGCA for more than one course within our department.
- UGCA assignments will begin August 2025
