SWENext Club Counselor Grant

The purpose of this grant is to alleviate financial roadblocks to registering or renewing a SWENext Club. SWENext Clubs can apply for one (1) SWE Educator Membership ($20 value) to cover the membership requirement for the club’s primary counselor.


CLUB ELIGIBILITY

  • To start or renew an existing club, the primary club counselor's SWE membership must be active to start and retain their club’s active status.
  • Current club counselors assigned as the primary club counselor do not have an active SWE Membership for the next fiscal year.
  • Clubs should not have any secondary or tertiary club counselors that already have active SWE memberships that can serve as a primary club counselor.
  • The club counselor candidate meets the eligibility requirements. See below.
  • Applicants can only be awarded a grant for one cycle in a calendar year.
  • All final reports are due by May 31st to be eligible to reapply for this grant.

GRANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Clubs must apply for funding within one of the three grant cycles each fiscal year.
  • Grant recipients are required to secure the following for their club’s roster by May 31st:
  • Minimum of 5 club members
  • 40% must identify as female
  • 75% of team members must be registered as SWENexters
  • Club members must be between the ages of 5-18
  • As a grant recipient, your club must send a final report (Link here) by May 31st of the fiscal year you are awarded membership. Your report must contain a minimum of one club photo with all of your members and counselors.


WHO CAN APPLY FOR A CLUB COUNSELOR GRANT?

The individual completing the application can be 1) the counselor or 2) students of the prospective club(s). If the individual is a student they MUST complete the minor consent form.


ELIGIBLE CLUB COUNSELOR CANDIDATES

  • Candidate will be the assigned primary club counselor.
  • Candidate meets one of the following criteria:
  • Is a teacher/educator
  • Is a current or retired professional engineer
  • Is signed up for SWENext Adult Advocates
  • Candidate is an adult over the age of 18.

Opens May 1 - Closes June 6 11:59pm CT

Award: FY26


2025 - Cycle 3 TBA

Tentative August 15 - Closes November 10 11:59pm CT
