STEADI Fall Risk Training

The online Fall Risk & Adult Intervention Linkages (FRAIL) training course covers the key components of the CDC STEADI fall risk screening protocol as well as information on evidence-based interventions.

The course was developed by a research team affiliated with the ISU Translation Research Network (U-TuRN) as part of a CDC-funded clinical trial. It has been turned into a self-guided online course to enable clinicians, public health professionals, older adult professionals and fitness leaders to learn how to conduct fall prevention screening in their organization or community.

The Iowa Falls Prevention Coalition (IFPC) has enabled the course to be provided for free as the training and implementation of the screening program are linked to strategic goals of the coalition.

The course is accredited by Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences and qualifies for 2 credits of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Individuals interested in receiving CME credits are required to pay a $50 fee to cover these costs. The form will capture the needed information for processing certificates and for managing the CME credits for those requesting this option. Information and payment options for CMEs will be provided when we receive notification that you have completed the course.

Follow up evaluations and information about supplemental 'Live Intensive' training will also be provided through a follow-up survey.

Thanks for your interest in the FRAIL training provided by our U-TuRN group and for the IFPC.

Thanks.
