Summary

Please comment on the Unique Selling points of the plant and/or comment on the following aspects: Benefits for wildlife, attraction to pollenators, hardiness of plant, tolereance of adverse conditions e.g. weather extremes, shade etc. and whether it is suitable for container growing.

As simply as possible, what make this an outstanding new plant?


By ticking this box, I opt into giving Joy of Plants permission to add our plants (including images) into their Library should they wish to, based on content you provide so that the plants are then available to their retail clients for printing bed cards and in their online Plant Finder and Webshops. (A watermark and copyright details would be added to all images).


Images (max size of 2mb) to be submitted for judging.

Please label all transferred photos with name of plant and company.


The Picture criteria to enter plants in the following categories:

  • Herbaceous Perennials (3-5 pictures) - Picture of the plant in a pot the same size as it would appear for sale. A close-up picture of the plant’s best features, this could include flower(s) and/or foliage.
  • Annuals, Tender perennials and container & basket plants (3-5 pictures) - Picture of the plant in a pot the same size as it would appear for sale.. A close-up picture of the plant’s best features, this could include flower(s) and/or foliage. A picture of a specimen plant to show growth habit
  • Flowering Houseplants, Foliage Houseplants and Cacti & Succulents (3-5 pictures) - Picture of the plant in a pot the same size as it would appear for sale. A close-up picture of the plant’s best features, this could include flower(s) and/or foliage.
  • Trees, Shrubs (including Conifers) & Climbers (3-5 pictures) - Picture of the plant in a pot the same size as it would appear for sale. A close-up picture of the plant’s best features, this could include flower(s) and/or foliage.


In addition to the above entrants are invited to submit one further picture showing the plant growing in a garden situation. This won’t be used in judging but could be used to help promote the plant in that part of our media coverage which will be consumer-focussed.


Images provided for judging purposes must NOT inlcude people, tools or benches etc. Plants should be against a plain background (such as a wall). Images that do not comply with the stated guidelines will be rejected and you will be asked to supply different images.

Additional information


From the Judges


Exhibitors MUST supply 3 retail ready plants per entry as per the criteria. Failure to meet the criteria wil result in the plant(s) not being Judged.

A reminder that any items of additional value (such as pots, ribbons etc.) are NOT judged

You are invited to bring a mature specimen plant of each entry to the show. The judges may wish to use these as a point of reference

I understand that I am required to submit documents and images (which I have clearly labelled with plant name and company) by FRIDAY 17 MAY 2024 otherwise my entry will be deemed incomplete and may be withdrawn by the judges.
