Our Peer Mentors are called Peer Leaders. WHO IS A "PEER LEADER"?

A Peer Leader is a student or recent- graduate selected by their school or peer mentoring program to serve as a leader who supports and guides their college peers to a successful and on-time degree completion. As a Peer Leader, you will:

• Commit to serving (1 year) as a peer mentor [Fall, Spring and Summer].

• Work to transform the culture of Broward College to help your classmates succeed, leveraging your student experience and the experience of the entire program network.

• Organize campus events and conduct one-on-one interactions to encourage your classmates to take the steps necessary to complete their college degree.

• Develop transferable leadership skills that can be applied to your future educational and professional paths.

• Attend mandatory orientation, meetings, and trainings in September and during the school year to learn the skills necessary to lead and positively influence your peers.

• Have a cumulative or term GPA of 2.0 (preferred 2.5+).

• Are available to commit to serve at least 20 - 27 hours per week.

Additional Qualifications:

* Meet the program minimum age requirement (18+). Note: 17 years old turning 18 years are considered minors and must be able to provide a GED or High School Diploma.

** Must be a U.S. Citizen, Resident or Legal Permanent Resident Alien authorized to work in the United States.
