Please provide the estimated Per Diem Meals and Incidentals costs for your travel. For domestic travel, consult GSA. For international travel, consult US Office of Allowances.

Please note: Per Diem is not allowable for "relatively local" conferences, so per diem is not allowable in greater Chicago area (Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, South Bend, etc) for students based in the Chicago area. If you are based in Paris, per diem is not allowable for conferences within Paris, etc.

Please note: Per diem is not allowable if the event / conference is providing meals.

For Non-Local Conference, maximum amount allowable: $500

For Local Conferences, maximum amount allowable: $350

By “Local” we mean, if you are stationed in Chicagoland area, conferences in the Chicago area are local. If you’re based in Berlin, you can apply for up to $500 to support travel to a Chicago based conference, but only $350 for a Berlin based conference.

Please note: Given public transportation options in the Chicagoland area, locations like Milwaukee, and South Bend constitute local travel.

The current academic year is 2025.

AY26 begins Sept 1, 2025. (Please note: APSA25 is AY26).
