UO Faculty Request for Visiting Scholars

The current estimated processing time for courtesy appointments and DS-2019 paperwork is between 1.5 and 2 months. We recommend submitting this form well in advance of the visitor's intended arrival date.

CAPS requests a $500 administrative fee from the scholar applicant, payable upon arrival check-in. This fee covers CAPS staff's administrative costs for processing J-1 paperwork, assisting visiting scholars in obtaining a UO ID and email, conducting orientation meetings on-campus resources, and providing initial printing or copying services essential for settling in.
